X-mas short film breakfast
We celebrate the shortest day of the year with short film breakfast (and sing a long)
As the shortest day of the year approaches, it can only mean one thing - The International Short Film Day is nearly upon us (what? You didn’t have it in your diary already?? Shame on you). Consequently we’ll be taking a break from screening feature docs, and serving up a veritable feast of some of the best short films from recent years for this special festive screening.
On the menu (along with some delicious breakfasty treats) is Dutch filmmaker and animator Douwe Dijkstra’s brilliant (and multi-award winning) short Supporting Film – an ode to filmgoers everywhere in which he shows off his skills with some fantastically inventive use of green screen and special effects, Finnish animator Heta Jäälinoja’s Penelope - a witty take on the chaotic and frantic cleanup period between someone ringing your doorbell unexpectedly to when you actually open it, and of course there’ll be a healthy dose of seasonal shorts in the programme too, including the heart-warming, sing-a-long promo Xmas Time for Purpy & The Evil Carrot Man.
The event is for free, but the spots are limtied. First come, first served!
